Intermec Thermal Transfer Ribbons For Intermec Barcode Label Printers
Intermec barcode label printers are commonly used throughout Canada. Those based on thermal transfer printing technology require the use of thermal transfer ribbons. Ink-coated ribbons are heated by the thermal printhead. Once sufficiently heated, the ink is released and transferred onto the label material.
Like all thermal ribbons, Intermec thermal transfer ribbons come in three basic formulations, with variations within each category:
- Wax ribbons — These are the cheapest thermal ribbons for Intermec barcode label printers. They should be used for general purpose paper labels that require limited durability.
- Resin ribbons — These are the most durable Intermec ribbons in Canada and should be used for the most demanding applications including chemical GHS labels and water-resistant labels. Resin ribbons are typically used with synthetic label materials.
- Wax-resin ribbons — These fall in between wax and resin ribbons. Use wax-resin ribbons with smooth or coated paper labels. They are more durable than wax ribbons and offer crisper graphics and text.
We have a variety of wax, resin, and wax-resin ribbons for Intermec printers including black general purpose ribbons, metallic ribbons, and specialty ribbons.
Intermec ribbons are typically wound with the ink coating facing OUT. The ribbons listed below are compatible with Intermec printers and are ink-side OUT. They have a one-inch core and are available in various widths and lengths.
We sell Intermec ribbons by the carton to customers across Canada. If you’d like to test a ribbon before buying a carton, we will be happy to send free Intermec ribbon samples to you upon request.
